GRAPHIC DESIGN & THE OTHER

Research
How did my research go?
First, we created three moodboards that depicted the three subjects from which we might choose: expacts, gamers, and monsters of the night. We've decided on night creatures.

Everyone had their own vision of what we intended to accomplish. However, we ended up with first responders, cops, firefighters, and medical personnel. We investigated how we can relate to them, what stereotypes exist, and how their mental health is affected by the work they undertake.

We investigated what kinds of feelings and concepts we obtain from this topic. We accomplished this by knolling the signs. This influenced our decision about first responder mental health.

Later on the stereotype caught our eye. I really liked the idea of breaking stereo type and desexualizing/degenderlizing these professions. But creating the usergroup for this got me to stuck in my process so, I let it go. Maybe I'll do something with it in the future. Because I discussed it with my cousin, and it appears that the hospital itself has a lot of issues with these matters.
Designing
My design process
I narrowed my userbase to solely include health care employees, making it easy to tailor the app to their needs. However, the software can be used by all first responders in general.

I started with the app's name because I wanted to be a symbol. First, I considered the Greek deity of health and creativity. However, I preferred the concept of using a flower as a name. The flower might then be used as a logo.

The flower I chose is known as the Blue Bell. In flower language, the bluebell represents humility, constancy, thanks, and everlasting love.
These definitions were chosen based on my research into stereotypes. The idea of making them more human-like. They must remain consistent, and the software will assist them in this endeavor. We have gratitude and eternal love for them.

After consulting with my testing group, I changed the order of my app, updated colors, and added icons to make it more entertaining and clear.

How did I test my interface?
Because they didn't have a lot of spare time, I attempted to keep the interviews as brief as possible. I booked Zoom appointments with them to make scheduling easier. I gave them permission to use the app and screenshared their screen so I could see what they were looking at. I also taped them so that I could have the entire conversation in my testing phase and listen back if necessary.

They talked about their experiences and how they felt working at night in a hospital, and I asked them questions to learn more about their thoughts and if the features in my app were valuable to them.

I made significant changes to my design as a result of their feedback. To make the app easier to use, I modified the layout, colors, and added icons.
Explanation logo:
You already know why I chose the Blue Bell flower, but my logo looks like this because I wanted to combine healthcare motifs (the snakes around the wand). However, this caused the logo to get jumbled. The circle is the only thing that remains, and the line of the heartbeat resembles the wand.

Walk through of the interface
You can choose to log in or create an account: If already logged in, then it automatically will go to the pin code
Pincode for privacy and protecting information
Homepage, you can see all the aplications the app has.
If there things your low on, then it will give these pop-ups
Agenda, I asked them if they would prefer to have their agenda automated. The answer was no, they wanted to have control over it and it gave them more realization that they have things to do. Also not all had an online schedule.
The profile need all the information to show the correct amount of water or diet.
Overview of all the applications but in graphics.

Here they can add their water and food
Here is an animation when they drink water, tea etc.

The usergroup told me that was more motivative because it's like a game

This exercise is a meditation. With scanning the QR at the wolken artwork there will be a projector that projects moving clouds on the sulpture
The idea is that the statues get a twist, they get interactive in the app but also in real life.

You literally make them come to life. I choose to do this because
the art works were for most statues that don't really gets your eye. So, to have more people to look at them I wanted to make them feel new and entertainment.
